Description
160mm Heritage wax oil is a pre-finished hard wax product that is designed to restore and protect heritage wooden furniture.
This unique oil and wax combination is formulated to protect interior veneered doors and furniture; here at Rustic World Timbers, you can find it. This hard wearing, water and dirt resistant option dry to an attractive, natural finish that will not crack, peel or blister. It effectively penetrates the wood surface, creating a healthy and elastic coverage that will not shrink or swell over time. Dry in under 10 hours, it is easily applied with a brush and no sanding is necessary for future applications.
The timbers that are reclaimed, re-milled, and recycled to produce this beautiful flooring solution are hand-removed structural timbers from houses and warehouses demolished in different parts of the country. Timber species reclaimed include Blackbutt, Oak, Messmate, Alpine Ash, Mountain Ash, Stringybark, Silvertop Ash, and Southern Beech; mostly due to their proved quality and durability.
Hard wax oil is a versatile product that can be used on a variety of wooden furniture types. Wood waxes are used for interior surfaces, usually furniture (see Wood Furniture Wax) and other low contact surfaces such as picture frames and wood panelling. Wax will never crack and peel and is very easy to maintain.
Although stand alone waxes can be used on flooring, they’re not very durable and are prone to wear and staining from liquid spillages, far from ideal in kitchens and bathrooms. The only wax products we recommend for wooden floors are hard wax oil products.
