Our Timber Fly Wire Doors are traditionally crafted solid timber screen doors designed to provide airflow, insect protection, and architectural character for Australian homes.

Each door is manufactured from quality Australian timber and supplied sanded raw, allowing the end user to apply their preferred paint, stain, or oil finish to suit their home, environment, and design intent.

These doors are ideal for period homes, farmhouses, heritage restorations, and contemporary builds seeking a natural timber aesthetic. Timber Fly Wire Doors are designed as fly screen doors only and are not security doors. Finishing and installation should be carried out by a competent carpenter or builder.

All Timber Fly Wire Doors are supplied unfinished (sanded raw). Natural timber grain, colour variation, knots, and character features are expected and form part of the appeal of genuine solid timber products.

The timber is provided as a blank canvas for custom finishes, including painting, staining, or oiling. Decorative profiles and traditional styling enhance the visual appearance of the doors.

As timber is a natural material, variations in grain, tone, colour, and character are normal and are not considered defects.

Doors are constructed from solid timber using traditional joinery detailing. A range of fly wire mesh options are available, including fibreglass, aluminium, stainless steel, PetScreen, and Invisi-Gard.

Pre-moulded plastic spline trims are supplied with each door, along with rubber spline and a spline roller tool. Doors are designed for mesh installation to be completed on site after finishing.

Where stainless steel mesh is selected, the mesh may arrive temporarily mechanically fixed to the door for transport protection. This is intentional and does not prevent finishing. The mesh and fixings can be removed prior to coating and reinstalled using the supplied spline system once finishing is complete.

Timber Fly Wire Doors are suitable for use as external fly screen doors, secondary doors behind main entry doors, and in high-traffic areas where ventilation and airflow are required.

These doors are not designed or intended to provide forced entry resistance and should not be used or relied upon as security doors.

Doors are supplied sanded raw and unfinished. Finishing is required prior to final installation. Mesh installation is to be completed after finishing.

Locks, latches, door closers, and other hardware are not supplied. Door hardware selection is an installation consideration.

Doors must be installed into a square and plumb door frame. Door frames that are out of plumb or racked may affect door performance. Natural timber movement may occur due to changes in temperature and humidity.

Wind exposure, latch selection, and door control hardware are site-specific installation considerations.
Finishing systems vary by brand and personal preference and are not supplied or specified by Rustic World Timbers. Modern exterior paint systems may not require a separate primer.

Regardless of coating system, a final finish is always required prior to use. Finishing is the responsibility of the end user.
